Sig sizes - 2007/01/08 21:21

This is not mentioned in the Code of Conduct but was in previous posts (which have probably dropped off the charts by now and should be put in a FAQ). The max size we allow for sigs (pics in your signature) is 400px wide x 150px tall. There is nothing in the software that keeps you from using one bigger but we enforce it manually just to keep things readable. So if any of you have a sig bigger than that please trim/resize it to meet those limits. Most graphics programs can do this for you automatically. If you're unsure of your sig size just right-click on your sig in one of your posts and choose Properties. Also, if you have more than one sig the total cannot be bigger than 400x150. Thanks.

I try to put my own picture with my posts but it doesnt work..... I have the right size and im doing everything right it just wont work. If you could help that would be great.

go into My Profile, in the text box, type [img]then the URL location of the image (ex: http://www.imac.hu/~zoli/irishfeet/images/ receptek/plum_pudding.jpg; that .jpg at the end means its the image) and finally place [/*img] (without the *)

should look like this (inside your text box)

http://img452.imageshack.us/my.php? image=mwsnap018uy5.jpg

it wont let me [img] that file for some reason...

hmm its not showing up..... I did everything as you said and my URL looks the same.

Those things (like the IMG) are called "tags". You have to have an "opening" tag and a "closing" tag. The opening tag is just the tag in brackets. The closing tag is just like it except the tag is preceded by a forward slash, like (without the quotes):

You forgot to put the slash in the closing tag. Also, you have to make sure you picture is in the right format just JPG. You can't just change the suffix to JPG. It has to be converted to that format.
