How are karma points determined/awarded/taken away, etc? In the last few days I have seen points added and taken away, and it just has me curious as to how that all works.

the points are given/lost when someone clicks on the thumbs, they dont really mean much and the scoring is golf style

It would seem that people have been on a kick to give me negative karma over the last few days. I've dropped about 6 points so far from positive down into the negative.
