*** 65th Clan History *** 2002 - 2009 - 2009/05/16 14:17
On January 22, 2002 the EA Games company released the First-Person Shooter game Medal of Honor : Allied Assault, developed by 2015 company and created by Steven Spielberg. The game is based in the Steven Spielberg's 1998 film Saving Private Ryan; many of the levels are direct quotations of the scenery (or even complete sequences as in the Omaha Beach mission) in the film. For most of us, older video-game players, MoH:AA is the father of the all modern FSP war based games.
During a year (2002-03), I met good players like Zephyr, Silverthon, Primus and Sultan. We all used to meet to play during nights in the 33rdss clan CTF server, modded by Ivan The Terrible. There was the server where I met Ivan The Terrible. Ivan was one of the first map-modders in Medal of Honor game. Actually, most of the server with traffic uses Ivan's mods, like MLS Clan servers, the 65th CTF Server and Hellzfire Clan server. On March 2002, Ivan The Terrible introduced me Mefy, the creator of several modes like Freeze tag, Capture-The-Flag, Voodo's doll, Demolition and others. For me, Mefy and Ivan The Terrible, both should be in the MoH Hall of fame.
On April 2002 I met Three-Legged-Willie and Freendeed in the DwR (Death without remorse) clan server. Hecktic was the GoA there. Ivan The Terrible left the 33rdss clan and his mods were retired from the MoH scene. We continues playing there and we created a brotherhood composed by Zephyr, Primus, Sultan, Krebskid, Three-Legged-Willie, TheRiskyMan and Freendeed.
On that summer of the 2002, we started to talk about to create a formal game clan. But, we needed a server and a name of clan. I contacted Ivan The Terrible who was developing with Solo a clan for that date also, the Hellzfire clan. Same as them, we rented our first server from one of the boxes of the 33rdss. Ivan The Terrible passed to us his CTF Modded files and configured our server. On August 2002 we started as a clan and to recruit people/members. GamerEx was the first recruit of the 65th. Freendeed created our clan tag, =[65th]=.
We needed a name. I recommended the 65th Infantry clan name, in honor to the puertorican regimen that have been fought for an entire century defending the United States of America colors. Most of my family have been part of the US Army since my memory can recall.
The 65th Infantry Regiment, nicknamed "The Borinqueneers", was an all-volunteer Puerto Rican regiment of the United States Army. Its motto was Honor and Fidelity. It participated in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. In 1956, the 65 Infantry was deactivated and became the only unit ever to be transferred from an active Army component to the Puerto Rico National Guard. The 65th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion was transferred to the PRANG 92nd BCT with their sister battalion the 1/296th Infantry Battalion and has served in the War against Terrorism and Operations Iraqi Freedom/Enduring Freedom. Puerto Ricans have participated in every major American military conflict, from the American Revolution, when volunteers from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Mexico fought the British in 1779 under the command of General Bernardo de Gálvez (1746 – 1786), to the present-day conflict in Iraq. The 65th Infantry which was originally activated as the "Porto Rico Regiment" in 1898, served in World War I, and fired the first shot of World War I on behalf of the United States. It was involved in active combat during World War II in the command of Gen.Patton. However, it was during the Korean War that the unit suffered the most casualties. Among the problems that they faced were the difference in languages (the common foot soldier spoke only Spanish, while the commanding officers were mostly English-speaking Americans) and the harsh, cold climate. Three months later, December 2002 Zero_Cool was recruited, and later March 2003 Inka and Soldat. Right now, besides me TheRiskyMan, they are the older and active members of the original clan.
On years 2003-05 we participated in the Capture-The-Flag (www.clanbase.com) Official Ladder, where we finished undefeated in that mode.
On February 2004 we moved our box to The Planet, Texas. That was our best time as a clan, we had almost 11 servers running and up, even 1 for Spearhead expansion. There was when our member Soldat impressed us with his skills as map-modder. He modded every map of Spearhead with new AI modalities. Bloodwake , SimonTheTemplar, Engine49 were our financial supporters.
Later that same year 2004 Alleycat and JB joined us. ^Alleycat was our 4th GoA, and the creator of the first Objective brigade within our clan. Was the first time, we played Objective mode.
Twenty20 and Vinstolf joined us later on 2005, and we had 3 active maps' modders at a time. Soldat, Alleycat and Twenty20. Only Twenty20 is active right now and is one of our GoA, who shares the clan management with this subscriber. Vinstofl and Mr.Smith still giving us support in the website maintenance and development.
Rock was the first Official Recruiter we had, and made the first Basic Training Course. GamerEX was the creator of the first 65th Sniper's Guide.

Actually, we are in contract with the www.myinternetservices.com with 3 servers, one MoH CTF, one MoH OBJ, and one COD4:MW. Active in EliteClan ladders (ECL) and in the TeamWarfare League.
On this coming August 1st, 2009 we'll be celebrating our 7th year as a MoH:AA Clan. Long life to the 65th Clan!!!
I would like to make a special tribute to my "always" friends and brothers : Freendeed (Rick) and Three-Legged-Willie (Mr.E.), without their support and frienship, the 65th wouldn't have sense to exist. From my deep soul : Thanks GOD for the experience to meet these guys....Amen.
